Marcel van Luit has been invited to design the constructor’s trophy for this year’s Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. Known for his deep fascination with heritage, van Luit's work often incorporates iconic elements of Dutch culture, such as the intricate patterns and craftsmanship of Delft Blue porcelain. 

When tasked with creating the trophy, Marcel immediately knew he wanted to give a contemporary twist to Delft Blue. This iconic symbol of his roots has always captivated him, and he saw this project as the perfect opportunity to merge his love for tradition with his signature style.

By blending modern surrealism with the timeless beauty of Delft Blue, Marcel has created an artwork that not only honors his heritage but also brings a fresh perspective to the art form. 


The patterns that he often draws by hand in his works have taken on a new dimension in this piece, making it a delightful challenge for him to innovate within the form of art he holds so dear.
